What we are aiming for
We want anyone to be able to book a chimney inspection on this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we have done
- Every image carries a text description, and each one states plainly that it is a 3D model rather than a photograph of a completed job.
- Text and background colours are tested for contrast. Body and interface text meets or exceeds the 4.5 to 1 ratio, and most of the site is well above it.
- The page works with the keyboard alone. Focus is visible on every control.
- The booking form asks one question at a time, with real labels, and errors are announced rather than shown only by colour. Without JavaScript every question appears at once and the form still works.
- Headings run in order so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.
- Buttons and tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels on touch screens.
- The layout reflows down to a 320 pixel wide screen without horizontal scrolling.
- Animation is reduced automatically if your system asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
We test with keyboard navigation and automated contrast checks. We have not yet completed a full audit with every screen reader and browser combination. If you hit something that does not work, that is a defect on our side and we want to hear about it.
Tell us
Use the booking form on this site, describe what went wrong and what you were trying to do, and we will reply. If the form itself is the thing that is not working, that is exactly what we need to hear about, so any detail you can give helps.
