Who we are
Chimney Sweep It cleans chimneys in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. This policy explains what we collect through chimney-sweep.it.com, why, and who sees it.
We are a service-area business. You can reach us through the booking form on our site.
What we collect
When you book through the form, we collect:
- Your name, if you give it. It is optional.
- Your phone number and ZIP code.
- Whether you tick the box to get text messages about your booking.
- Your street address.
- Your preferred day and time window.
- The service you choose and any notes you write.
The form has three steps. When you finish step 1, we receive your name, phone number, ZIP code and text message choice, even if you do not finish the rest. This lets us contact you if you stop partway.
Our web host keeps standard server logs. These include your IP address.
The site does not use analytics or advertising pixels. The site does not set cookies.
Why we use it
- To answer your booking request and confirm a day and time window.
- To contact you if you stop partway through the form.
- To come to your address and do the cleaning and inspection.
- To keep records of completed work for warranty, insurance and tax.
Who sees it
The form sends your details to our own server. From there:
- Our business mailbox. Each submission is emailed to us.
- A log on our server. We write a log line for each submission. It is stored outside the public part of the web server.
- GoHighLevel. We send your details to GoHighLevel, a third-party customer and messaging platform. We use it to schedule jobs and to text customers.
- Our web host. The host keeps standard server logs with IP addresses.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google's servers. When your browser asks for a font, Google receives your IP address.
Text messages
We only text you if you tick the box on the form. The box is optional. You can book without it.
Our texts are only about your booking and scheduling. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop getting texts.
How long we keep it
If your request does not turn into a job, we delete your details within 24 months.
If we do the work, we keep the records for as long as we need them for warranty, insurance and tax.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send your request through the booking form and write what you want in the notes.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
Massachusetts residents. Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c. 93H and the data security regulation 201 CMR 17.00) sets rules for protecting certain personal information about Massachusetts residents and for giving notice of certain security breaches. We follow these rules where they apply. Our form does not ask for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers or financial account numbers.
Children
This site is not for children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. For example, the submission log is stored outside the public part of our web server. No website or email system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that your information will never be accessed without permission.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
